Whale watching eco-tour
This excursion is bookable from 1st of August to 11th of November.
In French Polynesia, we have the chance to have the visit of the humpback whales (Megaptera) from August to November.
Come on board of Mori Ora to participate of a whale watching eco-tour, respectful of the animal and ecological. Indeed, the tour will use as often as it is possible the sails and the wind power to navigate. We are welcoming a small group on board, maximum 6 persons. The whale watching will take place from the boat (no swimming is planned) in order to let the marine mammals rest and take care of their babies. A marine biologist or naturalist guid will be on board with you to share as much as you would like to know about those magical creatures.
Other marine mammals can be encounter such as spinner dolphins, rough-toothed dolphins, grand dolphins, pilot whales, sperm whales, etc.
You can also take part of the navigation if you wish to trim the sails, steer the boat, keep the vessel on a heading. Your captain JP will explain all what you want to know about sailing.
Departure: 1PM at the Opunohu's marina.
Return: about 30min after sunset at the Opunohu's marina, between 6 and 7PM.
Duration between 5 and 6 hours.

Morning sailing

Your captain JP will share with you how to trim the sails, steer the boat, keep the vessel on a heading, do marin knots. You will learn the basic of sailing a monohull and experience the sailor's life for a moment.
Enjoy the beautiful journey and the breathtaking view on Moorea from the ocean side, and experience the wild and surprising Pacific Ocean with its deep, untalmed royal blue.
The ocean can be full of surprises and if nature wants to play, incredible marin lives can be met such as dolphins, chasing marin birds or whales.
Departure: 9AM at the Opunohu's marina.
Return: 12PM at the Opunohu's marina.
